1. The game I want to play is not working or not working properly. How can I fix this?

There is a number of solutions to your problem. Read the following paragraphs carefully to determine what the cause of the problem may be. Your software may not be up-to-date. To play online games, you need current versions of the following (free) software programs: Java, Shockwave and Flash. Check if you have the necessary plug-ins and their latest versions. Your browser may not support this game. Unfortunately, not all browsers support our games. Some games only work well when played in Internet Explorer. If you are currently using a different browser and the game does not work, try opening it in IE. Some other games work better when you play them in Firefox, which you can download for free on GetFirefox.com.

Your internet connection may be too slow. Some games need a bit of time to load and when the connection is too slow, it just takes longer. Some games are connected to the website of the developer(s), and if that site is under maintenance or experiencing a problem, the game might not work well either. Most of the time the game will work fine again the next day.

The settings of your firewall may be too tight. On some computers the firewall is set to not allow cookies. Most of our games, however, will store a cookie, that is a small text file, on your computer. If that is not a problem for you, consider changing the privacy settings of and allowing cookies.

2. How can I make Gamesbook.com my homepage?

If you want Gamesbook.com to be your homepage, there are several ways how you can do this. The easiest way is to change the settings of your browser. Go to 'Tools' in the menu bar and choose 'Options'. Fill in http://www.gamesbook.com in the field for your homepage. The exact location of this field may be different with every browser, so look closely. Don't forget to click on 'OK'. If you are using somebody else's computer, ask for permission first.

3. There are some Chinese and Korean games on your site. Can't you change that?

We are aware of the fact that most of our visitors do not understand Chinese or Korean, but when it comes to choosing the games for our website, we prefer to focus on quality instead of on language. Of course we want to offer English games only, but there are much less of them. Most games are programmed in China or Korea. That is why we offer a mix of English and Asian games.

4. How can I turn down the sound of a game or turn it off?

In a few games, you can regulate the sound in the 'Options' menu. In some games, you can only choose to turn off the sound and the sound effects, but unfortunately in most games this option is not available. The only thing you can do is turn off your speakers if the sound is bothering you. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

5. I found a cool game on another website, but it is not yet featured on this website. Can I put this game on your website?

Thank you for thinking about this. Unfortunately you cannot add games to our website. There are rules on copyright we have to respect. But we would greatly appreciate it if you brought this game to our attention. Fill out the contact form and paste the URL into the message body. Then we can check out the game and let you know as soon as we can if we can add this game to Gamesbook.com.
